Donna Dempsey


Donna Dempsey, trained at the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) in London. After passing her R.A.D. Teaching Certificate, she went on to attain the R.A.D. Teaching Diploma. Donna has broad international teaching experience, commencing her teaching career in the U.K. then moving to Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and Indonesia prior to opening The Dance Centre Dubai in 1996 later changing the name of the school to Turning Pointe.


Lara Cadenhouse-Beaty

Deputy Principal

Lara Cadenhouse-Beaty, was just 3 years old when she started dancing. She was offered a place at The Royal Ballet School when she was 8 and left the school eight years later as Head Girl. During this time she performed frequently with The Royal Ballet at Covent Garden. She was selected to represent Great Britain at the Grand Prix Eurovision Pour Jeunes Danseuses when she was 18, prior to working as a soloist, choreographer and teacher at Theater Lüneburg, Germany. She played the role of Meg Giry in four productions of The Phantom of the Opera, across Europe and danced five different roles in the two and a half year long production of Cats in Germany and Switzerland.

Lara received her teaching Diploma from the Royal Academy of Dance in 2006. Before joining Turning Pointe in September 2008 she taught children and adults a variety of dance styles in Berlin.

As Senior Dance Teacher, Lara splits her working week between teaching in the studio and working in the office coordinating our annual events and overseeing the teaching team.

Kerry McRitchie

Office Manager

Kerry joined Turning Pointe in January 2016 as Office Manager and has 5 years experience working in Dubai in various Administration and Office Manager roles. She previously worked for 2 years in Muscat, Oman and prior to this has 20 years experience working in the UK, mainly in Administration Roles in the Oil and Gas Industry.

Kerry supervises the Turning Pointe office based admin team of 5 and ensures the smooth running of the office. She will continue to develop the good relationships with parents and the points of contact at all our venues. She also works closely with the Deputy Principal.

Irene De Guzman

Senior Administrator

Irene had 5 years experience in a government company in the Philippines before she moved to New Zealand in 2008. In New Zealand, Irene did community work for 2 years and then relocated to Dubai in March 2011. She obtained her first job as school administrator for the Vision Institute of Professional Education - Sports Academy.

Irene then joined Turning Pointe in October 2011 as an Administration Assistant. On a daily basis Irene is responsible for liaising between the teachers and the schools, she is also responsible for the reconciliation of payments received. During Turning Pointes performances, Irene is kept busy with queries about the show and ticket orders, helping backstage and assisting with makeup as well as posting announcements on Turning Pointes website.

Camille Duka

Administration Assistant

Camille Marie Duka joined Turning Pointe in May 2016 as one of the administration team. Prior to joining Turning Pointe, she worked as a Receptionist cum Admin in a Trading Company/Nursery School in Dubai last January 2013.

On a daily basis, Camille is responsible for updating our database, handles uniform selling as well as overseeing our Online shop. She also handles the receipting process and uniform stocktaking. During Turning Pointes shows she helps on ticket selling/distribution and uniform sale.

Karen De Vera


Karen spent most of her career as an Accountant in the Philippines, working in the Automotive Industry. In September 2014, she moved to Dubai and secured a job as a General Accountant, working for a Software Distribution company. She joined Turning Pointe in November 2016 as the company Accountant and will also assist with HR and help out the administration team during busy periods.
