Donna Dempsey


Donna Dempsey, trained at the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) in London. After passing her R.A.D. Teaching Certificate, she went on to attain the R.A.D. Teaching Diploma. Donna has broad international teaching experience, commencing her teaching career in the U.K. then moving to Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and Indonesia prior to opening The Dance Centre Dubai in 1996 later changing the name of the school to Turning Pointe.


Lara Cadenhouse-Beaty

Deputy Principal

Lara Cadenhouse-Beaty, was just 3 years old when she started dancing. She was offered a place at The Royal Ballet School when she was 8 and left the school eight years later as Head Girl. During this time she performed frequently with The Royal Ballet at Covent Garden. She was selected to represent Great Britain at the Grand Prix Eurovision Pour Jeunes Danseuses when she was 18, prior to working as a soloist, choreographer and teacher at Theater Lüneburg, Germany. She played the role of Meg Giry in four productions of The Phantom of the Opera, across Europe and danced five different roles in the two and a half year long production of Cats in Germany and Switzerland.

Lara received her teaching Diploma from the Royal Academy of Dance in 2006. Before joining Turning Pointe in September 2008 she taught children and adults a variety of dance styles in Berlin.

Lorna Martin Fox

Dance Teacher. Head of ISTD Department

Lorna Martin Fox started dancing at the age of 3. She trained at the Waterfront Theatre School in South Africa where she studied Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Musical Theatre and Drama, graduating with her ISTD teaching diplomas in Ballet, Tap and Modern.

Since graduating Lorna has been performing in shows worldwide such as the prestigious Irish show Spirit of the Dance. Along with performing she has been a choreographer, dance captain, production assistant and company manager.

Ami Egdell

Dance Teacher

Ami began dancing at the age of 4. She went on to train at Ballet West in Scotland, where she passed all of her Royal Academy of Dance ballet examinations. As part of the Ballet West Company she completed several tours of the UK and two tours of China performing classical roles in ‘The Nutcracker’ and 'Romeo and Juliet.'

In 2011 she graduated with a BA in Classical Ballet and Dance Performance along with the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies from the Royal Academy of Dance. Ami has experience teaching both children and adults and is looking forward to being part of the Turning Pointe team.

Aniela Szary

Dance Teacher

Aniela began dancing at the age of four years old. She furthered her dance training at Northern Ballet School where she gained her Diploma in Professional Dance alongside gaining her Diploma in Dance Instruction (D.D.I) Ballet Teaching Qualification.

After graduating Aniela began a career in performing all styles of dance, from classical ballet to Hip Hop and Street Jazz, she had contracts with a wide variety of companies including Manchester City Ballet. Aniela is now looking forward to teaching the students of Turning Pointe and is excited and honored to be working with such a wonderful team.

Bethany Jayne Robson

Dance Teacher

Bethany grew up in Northumberland, England, where she began dancing at the age of three.

In 2010 she went on to train at the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) in Battersea, London where she attained a BA (Hons.) in Ballet Education, following on from her BA Hons. Bethany was awarded an Associate and Licentiate of the RAD. Upon Graduation, she spent two years in Singapore at City Ballet Academy teaching, choreographing and preparing students for exams and performances.

Bethany is excited to be working alongside the talented staff and students of Turning Pointe!

Carmen Lowson

Dance Teacher

Carmen Lowson.  Carmen was trained by Turning Pointe in Dubai attaining her professional ballet exams which enabled her to gain a place at Edinburgh College of Dance. 

After graduating from College in July 2008 Carmen returned to Turning Pointe as a trainee teacher doing her CBTS (Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies) through the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance).  Besides teaching ballet Carmen also teaches very popular Hip Hop classes.

Chloe Graham

Dance Teacher

Chloe Graham trained at the Northern Ballet School graduating with a diploma in professional dance in 2012. Since graduating Chloe has began studying for a degree in Dance Education through the Royal Academy of Dance. Before joining the Turning Pointe team Chloe taught vocational students at Bath Dance College and also has experience in teaching younger students in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop. Chloe is excited with her new challenge of working at Turning Pointe and to meet all the students.


Kate Millar

Dance Teacher

Kate has been dancing since the age of 6 in cape Town, South Africa. After high school she went on to study Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Spanish and a little African dance at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. After obtaining her teaching diploma Kate went on to teach for 4 years in Cape Town, South Africa.

Kate moved to Dubai in December 2014 to join the Turning Pointe team.

Lydia Leeson

Dance Teacher

Lydia has been dancing since the age of 3 at Centre Point school of dance in Manchester UK. At the age of 16 she gained a scholarship to further her dance career at The Hammond School in Chester UK. There she studied various styles of dance from Ballet to Musical Theatre, where she graduated in 2008 with a National Diploma in Professional Dance. Since then Lydia has gone on to fulfill a successful International dance career. She has performed on various TV Shows in Paris France, and other performances in Germany, Spain, Portugal and Asia. One of her career highlights was dancing alongside Hugh Jackman. Lydia joined Turning Pointe in 2014.

Michelle Daniel

Dance Teacher

Michelle started dancing at the age of 3 in her home town of Nottingham, England. She gained her full ISTD Associate level teaching qualifications in Ballet, Modern and Tap at The Performers Dance College, Essex.

After graduating, Michelle enjoyed a successful 10 year career as a performer, dance captain and choreographer in many contracts worldwide.

Michelle has recently moved to Dubai with her family and is looking forward to teaching the students at Turning Pointe.

Helena Knight

Dance Teacher

From South Wales, Helena started Ballet at the age of four and further studied Tap, Modern and Contemporary to a Vocational Standard. Helena graduated from the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) in 2014 with a BA (Hons) in Ballet Education and as a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance (LRAD). Following graduation, Helena spent the last two years in Dubai teaching ballet, choreographing and preparing students for examinations. Helena has recently joined the Turning Pointe team and is looking forward to sharing her passion for dance with the students!
