Lorna Martin Fox

Dance Teacher. Artistic director of TPYB. Head of ISTD Department

Lorna Martin Fox started dancing at the age of 3. She trained at the Waterfront Theatre School in South Africa where she studied Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Musical Theatre and Drama, graduating with her ISTD teaching diplomas in Ballet, Tap and Modern. Since graduating Lorna has been performing in shows worldwide such as the prestigious Irish show Spirit of the Dance. Along with performing she has been a choreographer, dance captain, production assistant and company manager prior to joining Turning Pointe in 2011. Lorna successfully ran the TPYB Department of Turning Pointe from 2014 -2017 she then handed this role to Michelle Daniel enabling her to concentrate on growing the ISTD Department of Turning Pointe.

Michelle Daniel

Dance Teacher - Artistic Director of TPYB

Michelle started dancing at the age of 3 in her home town of Nottingham, England. She gained her full ISTD Associate level teaching qualifications in Ballet, Modern and Tap at The Performers Dance College, Essex. After graduating, Michelle enjoyed a successful 10 year career as a performer, dance captain and choreographer in many contracts worldwide. Michelle joined Turning Pointe in 2012 and was promoted to Artistic Director of TPYB for the 2017/18 Season.

 

Ami Egdell

Dance Teacher

Ami began dancing at the age of 4. She went on to train at Ballet West in Scotland, where she passed all of her Royal Academy of Dance ballet examinations. As part of the Ballet West Company she completed several tours of the UK and two tours of China performing classical roles in ‘The Nutcracker’ and 'Romeo and Juliet.' In 2011 she graduated with a BA in Classical Ballet and Dance Performance along with the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies from the Royal Academy of Dance. Ami has a great deal of experience teaching both children and adults and joined the Turning Pointe team in 2012

 

 

Aniela Szary

Dance Teacher

Aniela began dancing at the age of four years old. She furthered her dance training at Northern Ballet School where she gained her Diploma in Professional Dance alongside gaining her Diploma in Dance Instruction (D.D.I) Ballet Teaching Qualification. After graduating Aniela began a career in performing all styles of dance, from classical ballet to Hip Hop and Street Jazz, she had contracts with a wide variety of companies including Manchester City Ballet. Aniela has been working in our Abu Dhabi branch since 2014.

 

Bethany Jayne Robson

Dance Teacher

Bethany grew up in Northumberland, England, where she began dancing at the age of three. In 2010 she went on to train at the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) in Battersea, London where she attained a BA (Hons.) in Ballet Education, following on from her BA Hons. Bethany was awarded an Associate and Licentiate of the RAD. Upon Graduation, she spent two years in Singapore at City Ballet Academy teaching, choreographing and preparing students for exams and performances. Bethany joined the Turning Pointe team in 2015.

 

Carmen Lowson

Dance Teacher

Carmen Lowson. Carmen was trained by Turning Pointe in Dubai attaining her professional ballet exams which enabled her to gain a place at Edinburgh College of Dance. After graduating from College in July 2008 Carmen returned to Turning Pointe as a trainee teacher doing her CBTS (Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies) through the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance). Besides teaching ballet Carmen also teaches very popular Hip Hop and Contemporary classes. Carmen also holds a level 2 in group fitness instructing certificate and loves to stay active performing in the dance world whenever she can, whether it be dance or aerial silk!

 

Chloe Graham

Dance Teacher

Chloe Graham trained at the Northern Ballet School graduating with a diploma in professional dance in 2012. Since graduating Chloe has began studying for a degree in Dance Education through the Royal Academy of Dance. Before joining the Turning Pointe team Chloe taught vocational students at Bath Dance College and also has experience in teaching younger students in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop. Chloe joined Turning Pointe in 2013.

Helena Knight

Dance Teacher

From South Wales, Helena started Ballet at the age of four and further studied Tap, Modern and Contemporary to a Vocational Standard.  Helena graduated from the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) in 2014 with a BA (Hons) in Ballet Education and as a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance (LRAD). Following graduation, Helena spent the last two years in Dubai teaching ballet, choreographing and preparing students for examinations.  Helena joined the Turning Pointe team in 2016.

Janine Binns

Dance Teacher

Janine Started dancing at the age of 4. She completed her training at the Waterfront Theatre School in Cape Town, South Africa where she studied ISTD Modern, Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre and Drama. 

After a performing career Janine joined the staff of Waterfront Theatre School and achieved her Licentiates in both Modern and Tap. Janine has been a choreographer for various musicals and corporate events, a production assistant and company manager as well as producer of her own cabaret show before relocating to Dubai in 2015.  Janine has been teaching RAD ballet in addition to ISTD Modern and Tap since teaching in the UAE and joined Turning Pointe in September 2017.

 

Lydia Leeson

Dance Teacher

Lydia has been dancing since the age of 3 at Centre Point school of dance in Manchester UK. At the age of 16 she gained a scholarship to further her dance career at The Hammond School in Chester UK. There she studied various styles of dance from Ballet to Musical Theatre, where she graduated in 2008 with a National Diploma in Professional Dance. Since then Lydia has gone on to fulfill a successful International dance career. She has performed on various TV Shows in Paris France, and other performances in Germany, Spain, Portugal and Asia. One of her career highlights was dancing alongside Hugh Jackman. Lydia joined Turning Pointe in 2014.

Patricia Sanchez

Dance Teacher

Born and raised in Mexico, Paty has had a passion for dancing since she was two years old; training at her mother's RAD Dance Academy in Acapulco, Mexico, where she completed all her RAD ballet grades and major exams up to Advanced 1.

In 2008 she moved with her family to the UK and enrolled herself into the Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS)  at the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) in London, and successfully completed the course in 2011 receiving her RAD teaching certification.

She has gained experience working as a professional dancer in the UK and Dubai; dancing in various Street/Hip Hop crews, Musical reviews and Brazilian shows.  Over several years her experience as a dancing instructor has given her the opportunity to work with age groups ranging from young children to adults in all styles of dance including: Ballet, Street Jazz and Latin Dance(Zumba). Paty is very happy to have rejoined the Turning Pointe team in September 2017.
